Cannot Shop From Shopify?

Shopify is Down in India?

Currently, around 427,676 businesses are shaking in their boots, waiting for the next update from Shopify.

As of an hour ago, Shopify’s systems are down worldwide as Shopify users are unable to access their storefronts resulting in orders failing and various glitches on the backend. While businesses panicked and tried to resolve the issue internally, Shopify Support tweeted addressing the issue:

Surprise surprise, Shopify Support too could not be accessed by users. In under an hour, Shopify set up a status page to ensure users got realtime updates on the situation.

Brands and businesses were quick to take it to Twitter to inform consumers to cooperate with this technical glitch.

Not only Shopify, but other big platforms crashed amidst a global internet outage

It’s not only Shopify that was down

Here’s a list of all the websites that were affected— The New York Times, CNN, Reddit, Spotify, Twitch, GitHub, gov.uk, Hulu, HBO Max, PayPal, Vimeo, Shopify.

The experts are calling it an apparent massive internet outage.

What happened: While there are alot of theories floating around on the internet right now. Fastly, a popular content delivery network (CDN), confirmed it was experiencing an outage on its website and said around 7 a.m. ET that a fix had been implemented. The service added that customers “may experience increased origin load as global services return.”

What it means for you: Fastly was a service provider/ CDN that all the websites listed above used to reduce load times on site. When fastly was down – it took down all the sites hosted on it. However, this can be easily resolved and is being fixed as you read this.
